Do You Hear That? If you haven’t had a chance to get out and look for tadpoles yet-I encourage you to give it a try! I have fond memories of doing this as a kid, and I still enjoy the excitement of spotting some in the water! I also like to stop and listen to the calling sounds of frogs. I have attached the links to some pretty neat websites (click on the buttons below). The first website has lots of information about how to find tadpoles. If you are really ambitious, it also outlines how you can raise them from tadpoles to froglets, and how you can study the transformation that occurs in their various stages, before releasing them back into their habitat. If this is too long of a process for you, you can scroll down the page and there is an interesting 7-minute video that shows you this transformation. I really enjoyed watching it, and so did my 7-year-old son! I also like the second website, it talks about the different frogs found in Manitoba. If you click on the learn more tab under each one, there are sound clips that you can listen to, and you can hear what each frog sounds like. If you spot or find a frog on your adventures, take a picture of what you find, and then check this website. Can you identify what type of frog it is?
I would love to see pictures of your adventures and discoveries! Until next time, Mrs. Conway

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Here is a fun exercise challenge to get everyone moving, on this beautiful sunny day!
Ready, Set, Go! Until next time, Mrs. Conway EARTH DAY 2020 Earth Day is this Wednesday, April 22, 2020! The first Earth Day was held in 1970, so this year marks the 50th anniversary of this important day. Earth Day is important because it raises awareness about the impact that our actions have on our environment and Earth as a whole. Earth Day is celebrated all over the world. Throughout the week take a look at the videos I have posted and see if you can check off any of the activities on the “Bucket List,” that I found from Chickabug.com. Click on the image to view a larger image on the website. I also challenge you to write down 3 actions that you would like to do to help our environment. I read the 50 Actions for the Earth Poster and these are the top 3 things I want to do:
Even though we celebrate Earth Day on April 22, we can do our part-big or small, everyday to take care of our planet, because really, everyday is Earth Day! Until next time, Mrs. Conway Hi 6C Families!
If you are looking for something extra, different or fun this is the place to check out! As there are so many ideas floating around during this time, I am going to use this spot to post interesting, helpful, useful or fun "stuff" that I come across. Take a look-but no pressure! Try out activities that you find interesting and inspiring, and leave the things that you don't! If you have found something, or have done something that you think others might enjoy-send it my way! I will post it here to share with everyone! J.W. shared this with me yesterday. He went on a drive with his family and brought along this bingo challenge. I love the idea of exploring our "backyard"-keeping social distancing in mind, of course! :) Until next time, Mrs. Conway |
